Creative Crafts Group Expands Events Division
With Acquisition of MS. Productions, Inc.
Creative Crafts Group, part of New Track Media, expands its crafts portfolio with the purchase of MS. Productions, Inc. and its 9 quilting and sewing consumer shows.
Cincinnati, Ohio, November 21, 2011 – Creative Crafts Group, part of the New Track Media family of companies, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of MS. Productions, Inc. and its nine quilting and sewing consumer shows operating under the brand names “Original Sewing & Quilt Expo” and “Georgia Quilt Show”.
MS. Productions, Inc. was founded in 1995 by the Ingraham family in Westlake, Ohio. The business has been owned and operated by Marlene Ingraham and Mark Ingraham, both of whom will be continuing under the new ownership. Marlene’s husband Stan Ingraham, who retired after 30 years from a series of senior executive positions with VSM Sewing, Inc., joined the company in 2009 as a consultant.
“We are excited to add this tremendously successful group of sewing and quilting shows to our consumer events business, and having Marlene and Mark joining our company to continue building the business makes this even better” commented Tina Battock, Senior Vice President of Creative Crafts Group.
Creative Crafts Group is part of New Track Media, the largest crafts media business in the United States. The business includes a broad selection of enthusiast magazines, websites, television programming, events, affinity clubs and direct to consumer catalogs in a range of subject areas such as Quilting, Sewing, Knitting, Scrapbooking, Papercrafts and others. Leading the soft crafts portfolio are well-known consumer brands such as Fons & Porter’s Love of Quilting, McCall’s Quilting, Quilters Newsletter, Quiltmaker, Keepsake Quilting, QNNtv, Quilters Club of America, Keepsake Quilting, Love of Knitting, Creating Keepsakes, Paper Crafts and various others such as Creative Machine Embroidery and Sew News. All brands are offered in print and digital format, most have e-commerce storefronts, and two have established television programs on PBS stations across the country.
“We have an established Events group that has been highly successful in extending our scrapbooking and paper crafts brands, and this acquisition gives us additional exposure in the sewing and quilting categories,” said Battock. “We have such an extensive roster of leadership brands in those subject areas, but no consumer shows, so this is a really sensible strategic fit.”
Marlene Ingraham added, “We have worked with Tina and her team for years, and they’ve been sponsors of our shows, so we know each other well and feel very comfortable making the transition becoming a part of Creative Crafts Group.” Mark Ingraham added, “Because Creative Crafts Group has such extensive consumer reach in sewing and quilting, the greatest in these industries, there is no other organization that could grow our consumer show business as effectively, and we are all energized by that notion.”
MS. Productions, Inc. has been operating out of offices in Westlake, Ohio, where the business will continue to be located. Creative Crafts Group plans to add an undetermined number of new shows in the 2012 calendar year.
