Bag Patterns Free – Clutch Purse

Bag Patterns Free from So Sew Easy

I found several bag patterns free  on Pinterest, this Ruffle Clutch Bag is one of the favorites.  Deby from So Sew Easy Bag Patterns Freeshares a her bag patterns free for making really cute clutches.  The ruffle clutch is so cute and so sew easy to make.  The ruffle clutch has a wrist strap to make carrying the clutch easier.

The design is perfect for a beginner that is just learning to sew.  It is all straight seams, NO curves!  The closure is a magnetic snap, which is very easily installed and can be found at JoAnns or most sewing stores.

We never have enough purses and this little ruffle clutch purse would make cute Christmas gifts for bag patterns freemost anyone.  If you thinking of Christmas Gifts, August is a good time to start!  It seems that as soon as school starts Christmas is here!  So I suggest planning your holiday sewing projects early.  I actually keep a dry erase board by my sewing machine with my gift giving to do list.  My goal is to finish sewing all my gifts by October 15th so I can enjoy decorating and preparing for the holiday season. A little about Deby, I would love to meet her!  So talented and sounds like go getter.

Why sewing? Isn’t that a bit old fashioned?    And what’s with the mask and snorkel !

In June 2012 I suffered a brain injury that landed me in hospital.  Afterwards, I found concentrating and reading very difficult, and had problems with my memory – a lot of things changed.  But the strangest thing – I suddenly had an urge to sew!

I’ve never sewn. Well, we had to do a compulsory year of dress-making when I started my secondary education at the age of 11, and I made this awful dress from totally unsuitable material and in a horrid 1980’s batwing, shoulder-pads horror style.  There was no fitting lesson, just make it up straight from the pattern, the whole class trying to share 5 sewing machines.

It took a whole year to make, with one 30 minute lesson once a week.  And at the end it was totally laughable and would not have fit anyone in the real world.  It went into the bin and I never ever considered sewing again.

Until over 30 years later when it was all I could think about.   (From
